Hi folks,
looking for some advice on the Discovery 2 Seat belt pre-tensioners. After going to the tip today and getting back in soaking wet, upon pulling up and parking the pre-tensioner went off. Large bang, smoke, and the seat belt pulled tight across my chest. Interesting...

Id had the SRS light on and off for a couple of weeks, and upon checking with my Nanocom Evolution after the event today I have the fault "Code 023 - The right hand pre-tensioner measures short to ground".

Im guessing this has all been caused by some wear to the wiring and a short occurring. My wife has the seat almost as far forward as possible and I have it as far back as possible.

Presumably the seat has to come out to swap this out. Has any one attempted it before?

Thanks

Matt

Before I order, am I correct in thinking that when the pre tensioner has been activated it will need complete replacement. Ie it's disposable.

Cool thanks. Have ordered the new tensioner just waiting for it to arrive. Then it's time to wrestle the front seat out.

There was a fault showing a short to ground at the pretensioner. Hoping its on the old pre tensioner side not some where down the loom. The seat gets moved back and forward every time my wife drives

Best to get the loom checked for a short, before connecting the new one, or it could immidiatley go again..
