I'm off to the Scottish borders for a week in September for a weeks holiday, staying near Peebles and plan to get in various activities- a bit of mountain biking, hiking, prob a trip to Edinburgh and maybe a bit of green laning. As I understand it the law in Scotland is somewhat vague on unsurfaced roads (and I know rights of way in general don't exist in Scotland in the way they do England and Wales,) looking at Trailwise there are a number of 'tracks' marked in the area- Thief's road, John Buchanan Way and various un-named drove roads and the like- can anyone shed any light on what, if any, of these are legal vehicular routes?
