Just started, when the car is cold and I first start it the serpentine belt screeches like a banshee, give it a minute to warm up and its as quiet as a church mouse. Does this mean it needs a new belt?
It's the belt slipping on the alternator pulley as it loads up to replenish just after start. New belt should cure it, as they get glazed causing slip.
