Hello fine people of LandyZone, long time no post - but this will probably be the first of many posts relating to my latest acquisition, the 130 Crew Cab.
I've never actually driven the truck as it's not roadworthy at the moment.

The 130 is fitted with a Detroit Locker (Eaton No-Spin) differential. The truck won't drive unless it's in center diff lock, as without it on the rear prop just spins freely and emits a grinding noise from the rear of the truck.

Seems like the dog clutches on the locker aren't engaging at all. It's possible the teeth have been ground off but upon draining the diff I didn't find any swarf or metal fragments.

I have taken the cover plate off the salisbury and can see the dog clutches jumping in and out of engagement when the prop is turned. So not sure what the problem might be, whether it's just a lack of engagement force from the springs or the teeth have ground off. Any Detroit experts here?

I tried to remove diff from the housing today but was thwarted by the lack of a case spreading tool. I tried putting a bottle jack under the diff casing but to no avail. Any tips here? Or anyone in the South East who can lend one?

Any advice welcome (James Martin still about? :p)
Ta!

i know you can get a detroit out of the axle with careful prying instead of an axle spreader as ive done it a few times myself

as above they will prise out with 2 levers , diff carrier should have 5 thou preload which doesnt make it impossible to prise out or difficult to tap back in, in my experience detroit will be broken
