It is a sad day Indeed. I have to sell my Nintey. I wanted to do an auto conversion, but unfortunately it will just cost too much to do. So I'm selling up and buying a Disco 2 Auto. Coz am I **** driving anything but a Land Rover. Well I'd buy a 2019 Jimny if I could afford it, but hey.

D2's are a nice bus. way more comfortable than any 90.... Make sure you factor in diagnostics into your purchase....:)

I'm sure you know this already, but watch out for rust in the rear chassis

I do understand the sadness of giving up something due health issues - I've done quite a bit of that myself, and it is crap. Keep your chin up. :)

Yeah I've haunted enough posts to.have a fair idea what to look out for.
I'm sure it will grow on me, once I've turned it into a proper all terrain toy. And I'm sure I can get used to being comfortable when driving long distances.

Cool. Personally, I doubt you'll ever have regrets - they are so much more comfortable, so much quieter...

If you're contemplating off road mods, then, be aware that the auto D2 is limited to certain wheel sizes due the electronics .... maybe you're not going that extreme ?

Also, V8 ( oh yeah :D ), or TD5 ? :)

I don't do a lot of off roading, but I do need it to go through floods and snow. So i would want to go as tall as possible.

I can't justify the insurance or fuel costs of a V8.

I went from a 90 to this...

Comfier, quieter, cheaper to buy and just as capable off road or certainly when it comes to green laning. Oh and there's not the constant threat of having it robbed....

Just be aware that the D2's Auto box is a bit..

Well

Shít.

The thing will refuse to change gear below 2300rpm which is a tad annoying..

And if you are sat in a 50mph zone it won't lock up so you're sat at 2500rpm until you reach 55mph then it locks..

Cruising RPM is ok 2100rpm at 60mph..

Personally i'd budget to fit a V8 Torque converter..

I was going to, but i'l prolly scrap mine..

The rest of the car is brilliant, the D2 is a very good all rounder.

Right, so, I've had my results back, and my left knee is fine, I just need physio. So I'm keeping the Ninety. Yay. Still gonna swap the clutch pedal for a 300tdi one, fit an assist spring and a Redbooster clutch servo. But phew, bullet dodged.
