This is my first post and I"m hoping there is someone out there that can help.

My father has a s3 Land Rover that has had a 4.203 Perkins engine conversion. He is after a clutch pressure plate that mates the Perkins engine and standard series 3 gearbox. Does anyone know the model/product number for this part and where he can purchase from?

Hope you guys can help!

Nope, but someone here probably does.

If you cant find one, then there are a couple of specialist clutch firms that will fit a centre thats compatible with the perky to a series plate.

Hi a faro

my dad used to have a s111 with a perkins 4203 engine in it and i am pretty sure it used the same s111 clutch plate as the s111 but there was some peops back in the day that used a rover 3ltr clutch aswell so you may need the old clutch plate as a sample and go to a clutch supplier and try and match it up with your old one, hope this helps.

Just a warning - the 4.203 is quite capable of ripping the centre out of the standard SIII clutch plate. I had one a few years ago. On another occasion it snapped the 1" thick (SII) gearbox layshaft. A lot of torque in them engines!!!

think that only happends when you abuse them my dad had his first landy swb s11a for 18 years the last 10 years it had the 4203 in with no probs and that was towing a caravan to the south of france every year, then he bought a s111 lwb safari and fitted the same 4203 engine in that again with no probs, its just a matter of not using first gear.
