Just got a lovely little Series III Lightwieight built in 1980. 44,000 miles and excellent condition - in fact I am using her as my daily runabout. But she has acquired a random selection of non-historical markings, and I would like to get the proper colours and badges.

Any clues to history or where to look next?

Try doing a google search for "landrover VIN number identification" There are sites out there that will tell you what all the letters and numbers mean.
