Hi All, I have a bit of a problem - after the original 2L engine munched on its exhaust valve seat, and a crack in the block in the usual place top of cylinder leaking water, I decided to swap to a V8. Parts all sourced etc. I am about to take the 2L out but I notice the gearbox bellhousing is different to the S2/3 bolt pattern - ie this is'nt going to bolt straight on... Plenty of people have put the 2 1/4 engine in with the different pattern, how did they do it? Is it a mattter of finding a S2 bellhousing and bolting things across... any ideas where I can get one from? The gearbox is otherwise very good, and as I'm not pulling heavy loads etc should survive ok, I would prefer to keeop it if possible better the devil you know etc.! Any advice will be of great help (I'm using the usual v8 adaptor ring...)
Thanks
Tom
