A mate of mine asked me to look at his faulty Disco 1 drivers window and when I took the door card off I found that the channel at the bottom that the window sits in had completely rusted away, only half of it remained and that fell off! From what I have read this appears to be a common problem.

Can anyone tell me if this part can be purchased separately and if so what is the part number? Or will I need to get him the whole regulator assembly (which I assume includes the channel - part number LR006373)?

The channel is a seperate part, the numbers are

Upto 1994 VIn LA MUC2322
1995 to Vin MA137189 ALR6482
MA137190 on ALR8022

You will also need the rubber insert for the channel which is

Up to MA137189 ALR6541
MA137190 on ALR8991

I did mine a couple of years back, the hardest part is getting the glass into the rubber and channel. You need plenty of washing up liquid, rubber mallet and patience.
