Hello their, Basically im looking for some advice on getting rid of the rust on the rear X member + door hinges on my 90. It's only surface rust at the moment so want to get it sorted before it gets any deeper. I'm a complete novice at this kinda stuff so whats gona be the best paint? method? etc etc.. any help much appreciated :) Cheers

just use something rough when you rub. napkins soaked in baby oil just wont do. you can also get some magical **** that turn the rust into some black stuff. someone else probably knows more about it . i prefer to cut it out and weld soem good metal back in ( but this ain't always possible)

if its definately only surface rust, go to b&q or somewhere like that and buy a tub of brick acid, this is the same **** that they use to chemically remove rust before powder coating, once the acid has done its stuff, get a can of brake dust remover in an aerosol, spray a load of this on(i mean a feckin **** load), dry it off thoroughly and prime it straight away. should be as good as new, but only if its surface rust ;)

Surface rust on rear crossmember, that aint no major issue.
Simply remove rust with wire brush then paint over with Hammerite or if its on the inside underneath the landy Waxoyl it,rust wont come back.
