Anyone point me in the right direction for a gearstick gaitor for my 1974 series 3 88 four wheel drive stick (red knob) that lasts longer than a couple of weeks please??? Mine perished within that time from new. Think it was Britpart. Its the only beef Ive had with them so far.

Yeah, don't use beef mate.

When you fit the next one, smear the undersides with Vaseline.

It is absorbed by the rubber snd makes it soft(er) and pliable.

Paddocks sell them for a couple of quid i think

Vaseline will soften the rubber slightly, as will glycerine (not too much though else the rubber will turn to goo) or even WD40 (spray/paint on then put in a sealed polythene bag)
