I know the rear wheel bearings are shot on my '92 Vogue SE, but I had a look at the front ones while it was up in the air having a tyre changed. One is absoloutly fine, no problems, on the other I can feel a slight bit of movement rocking it with my hands at the top and bottom of the wheel, and it is very very slight. This side also clicks a bit on full lock, so the CV may need doing soon. But would this movement be a swivel pin issue? The car did suffer a siezed VC unit and travels about 200 miles in that condition.
As I am about to order the parts to do the rear wheel bearings I would like to get the parts to sort the front out at the same time!

You also need to test the movement at the 9 and 3 o'clock position to be sure if it is wheel bearing or swivel pin.

If you are changing the CV that side then you will obviously be resetting the wheel bearing preload too. May well be worth checking the swivel pin preload while you are there.

Ahh I did do the 9 and 3 position, and there is no movement at all that I can detect, only at 12 and 6, so is this swivel pins? What I wodul like to do is take care of this and the CV at the same time if possible.

If it is only slight movement then I would reset the preload (by removing shims) and see where that leaves you.

......one mans 'slight movement' is another mans 'good enough' :)
