Hi guys

got a 93 RRC 3.9 with mega low miles. been sitting for a few years and never heard it run...

checked all fluids etc, fresh fuel and turned it over.... nothing.

spark is good and strong.

the fuel pump doe not prime (pump works as i have tested itwith a seperate power supply)

even with the fuel system pressuried the inectors do not open (not blocked as i have earthed them and they squirt)

inertia switch is in correct position.
battery good
remote locking/alarm works.
will fire on easy start so sould run just can't get any fuel to squirt in.

i know these are earth switched on 14cux, bad earth?
i have tried a second ecu with the same issue.

is there somekind of immobiliser which cuts fuel?

i am starting to question the sanity of buying this car...... :boink:

any ideas greatly appreciated

If you say you have a spark and fuel but injectors not firing it sounds like you don't have the trigger from the coil - check the connection to the negative terminal on the coil, make sure the wire isn't corroded or broken.

The engine will flood easily, so if it is flooded try cranking with throttle wide open. If that doesn't work, try advancing the ignition timing, remember to mark the position of the dizzy before you start.

First off, were it me I'd pull the plugs and blow the silly thing out just to ensure the cylinders are clear.

Turn the key off, wait 30 seconds, then turn it on and listen for the fuel pump doing its thing. You should hear the pump whir shortly, then go quiet again. If that is not happening and the fuel pump relay is good then I'd be in the manuals chasing through the ECU tests as you may have a power fault or the like.

As others have said the ECU is triggered by the coil signal from the dizzy. That should be uninterrupted by the function or not of the ECYU as it's pretty-well an entity unto itself taking nothing but +12 and ground. if the coil is not firing then figure that out first - it's usually that verdammt module on the side of the dizzy.
