i have got a set of Range Rover sport wheels, the 20" V spoke type. They are genuine (so the guy says and will tell when i get them).
I was chatting to the guy that fits tyres on my cars and told him what i have got and wanted to fit.
He said that if the wheels are genuine RR wheels and not copies that the wheels will fit my car because its a late 2000 x reg without spigot rings......


is this true or BULL.............?
 
RR Sport wheels aren't even interchangeable with early L322s (roughly those without Terrain Response) so I'm sure they need something to ft a P38 safely.
 
I got the new wheels fitted to the car saturday and got a set of spigot rings and also new wheel nuts as the P38 nuts are too big. I drove the car and now it feels alot move better when turning as the car doesnt roll as much on the tyres. But there is a down side to this, every bump is more felt than before.
I want to know if this is down to my worn shocks...... I havent changed them and would guess they are still the ones fitted when it rolled out of the factory. the car has done 106K now.
Would it be a good idea to fit Koni shocks to the car or standard LR units?
the main thing is at speed when the car hits a bump at 70mph it sends a shudder though the body of the car.
Does anyone know how to reduce the shudder ?
 
I would pretty much guarantee it is the trade off with having the larger wheels with lower profile tyres you can't have comfort and better handling also i doubt changing the shocks would make the ride quality softer
 
at low speed the bump isnt that bad...... its has the sporty feel to the bump, but the shudder at speed is more rebound from something moving. say i hit a bump on a road at 70mph i get a shack that shudders 4 times before going away.... and if the road is crap i might hit another bump and it starts all over again with the shudder.!!!!
they guy from scorpion racing said that koni have 3 settings soft medium and hard. i was thinking maybe a set of them set to soft might be ok.....
 
Yes, Have the same 20 inch wheels on my P38. General driving & cornering are improved and it looks like a much nicer vehicle >> but if you hit bumps at speed, it is made much more noticeable. The first time it happened to me I thought I'd run someone or something over > now i'm used to it (either that or I have flattened a load of cyclists at various times in the past 6 months ?).

as there uprated shocks the soft setting may still be firmer than normal RR units? just a thought before you spend your wonga lol
