Hi,

I have a rover 3.9 efi V8 from a 1994 disco with a blown head gasket. I know it is blown, due to compression tests, water coming out the exhaust, coolant under pressure etc. But was wondering if it could be causing the flooding issue I have been experiencing? Every time I try and start, it floods, I dry the plugs and it starts, then gradually floods and dies. I have had this problem for a while before the head gasket was diagnosed, but wanted to know if it would cause this problem.

If its blown the the gasket and it lets coolant into the bores then yes it would be related, and eventually hydrolock if not sorted
