Hi all,

The chassis of my 1984 110 is not in the best state. Whilst most of it is sound, there is the odd bit where the rust is starting to get the better of it.

Yesterday I went to use the forward jacking point to lift it and the top of the jacking point just crumbled.

Obviously I'd like to fix this, but short of cutting out the rotten bits and welding plate in there can anyone offer some magical advice on how to fix this?

:)

Yes use a bottle jack under the axle much safer.

As for the jack points I assume you mean the front chassis legs? if so I would take a hammer to the rest of the chassis for a good hard look as Ive not seen one with rot that far forward so the rest might be as bad, ie not worth repairing.

Location would help as someone local might offer to have a look for you.

That's about the only way to fix it up but I'd recommend taking the front bumber off to see the whole area. This is what mine looked like before and after.....

Still saving up for a new chassis though:(
