I have found a company in South Africa who are willing to sell excellent quality roof tents at a reasonable cost (about £500 at current rates). The problem is the expense of shipping to UK. Obviously the more tents that are purchased the cheaper it is to get them here. Before taking the matter any further is there anyone interested in joining forces for a bulk buy as this will not only reduce shipping costs but will give some leeway in initial purchase costs. I have spoken to the company concerned and they assure me that the quality of their tents is higher than the usual range supplied by the Eezi awn, Hannibal etc. These tents are not to be confused with the cheap imports from the Far East.

thats a shame have just,10 minutes ago, ordered two from Germany, 1,000.00 euros delivered.LEE

The front runner is the same tent as those sold by myway tents here in the UK. Its badged as the Serengeti. £361 is a good buy for a 2nd hand RTT as long as its in good condition. from the odd amount, I assume it was an ebay find :D

You are of course right... eBay :D

I didn't know anything about the brand, just took a chance...

It seems in pretty good condition, and I've given it some Fabsil proofer.

It comes with the short ladder that rests on the A Bar,

But the roofrack I have has a raised rail on the front section,

So how I end up mounting it is up for discussion

Cut the roof rack or buy the extension for the ladder. the PO should have kept the remaining parts.

Feather Lite Rooftop | Tent For 4x4s

here is your RTT, a very repitable make from SA, quality kit.

The seller didn't have a ladder extension, and it's certainly older than the Tent in the link...

I may have to think this one through as I really don't want to cut the Survivor roof rack...

And I'm not sure about how to go about extending the ladder.

Oh the joys of buying stuff on an impulse :D

Aaa, I thought you might have just had a galv one :)

no dont cut it. I would run it off the side as close to the side rails as possible. speak to an importer of front runner here in the UK and try to get a replacement ladder to bolt to the RTT base. Winter is coming so you have 6 months or so to carry out the work.

Good advice... 6 months should see it done
