Not illegal if wired to high-beam.

Additional lights shouldn't be part of the MOT test, but are part of the construction regs and can only be used when wired to supplement high beam .. I can't actually find the info as I'm just getting ready to go back to work .. ;)

I may be wrong ... can't find any info on when additional lights may or may not be used, sorry!

I just seem to remember that spots/additional lights whould be wired to high beam, but as they're not part of MOT I now question that myself!

mine went through mot yesterday with the roof lights……no problems and mine are all 150w units

Spot lights should only be used with main beam, must be mounted between 24 and 42 inches above ground, and must not dazzle other drivers. Can be a MOT fail if not set up right.

EDIT: but if they are switched you can say you only switch em on when you are off road, then road legal dunt matter ;)

Mine would dazzle the fecking sun

Soon to all be hooked up to the main beam stalk now that the MOT's done :D

42 inch max height above ground..... need a roof drop to make them legal then..... mot dont actually come into it.... a picky plod will do you even if youve got a current mot.... and by the way 150 watt bulbs are illegal if used on road as well

guess its dr evil thats the ignorant tool.
