Does anyone have or know of a good place to buy a roll over bar for my truck cab ? I ideally want one that goes in the tub just behing the rear windows and is braced backwards.
What is 6mm?, I aggree with only doing proper cages, imagine a cosmetic one braking away deforming and spearing the inhabitantsWhitbread offroad do a weld in kit Blueband steam barrell for serious CCV tough as old boots competition. or use CDS for light weight racer but bewary as these can deform more easy tan Blue band. Make sure if you intend on using it for anything that it conforms to the regulations. We always suggest its buiult to ARC regs i.e (6mm)and then you are covered for all the events.
Cosmetic one well take your pic I personally wouldn't. If you want a cage I'd do a propper cage not a pretend one.
6mm, is that wall thickness on the tube,I build chop frames in me spare time and been considering making a cage up for my 90 and then maybe making the odd one to sell.Whitbread offroad do a weld in kit Blueband steam barrell for serious CCV tough as old boots competition. or use CDS for light weight racer but bewary as these can deform more easy tan Blue band. oops didn't see the link:doh: very handy,i've always used 38-42 3mm wall tube for frames and have a bit spare from my trike frame so might start to make one.
i'll have a word with my steel supplier next time i see him probably in the new year now and ask what he's got with regards to these specs ,cheers jai.MINIMUM SPEC:
Minimum it must conform to BS187, 3.2mm wall thickness, 48mm O/D Baseplate can be 3.2mm but any other bracket or plate muct be 6.4mm or 1/4 inch mounting hole size must be minimum 9.6mm or 3/8 inch HTS.
last lot i had was 6 months ago for 50x6ft lengths of 38mm o/d 3mm cost me 50 quid ,i just told the old boy what it was for and what it needed to cope with and he got me a still full but as it's a stock holders and these were off cuts you can wait a while for the right stuff but as a sideline it's not such a problem.I'm trying to finda decent suplier down here but getting expensive I think I managed to get it down to £20 odd per 6 meter length but thats without delivery. I could do with 4 lengths tbh
