Hi guys,

Quick bit of advice please. I cleaned out the flame trap breather on the left bank (as you look at it from the front) and no probs.

However, on the breather at the back of the right bank (I put a new filter in), the base plate appears to be blocked pretty much solid.. I couldn't see in the dark, but whats the state of play here?

Does the base/mount plate come out okay? Best way to clean it? Is the hole about 2mm at the top?

Pic of the troublesome fellow below.

Thanks as always.

Yep, tis what we call the mushroom breather. It is an 8mm OD shaft pushed into an interference fit hole in the rocker cover, it has a recessed centre section which itself has a teeny 0.5mm ish hole in it, but especially due to there being a recess it easily blocks with mud n crud.

Take of the plastic cover and scrape out the recess, worst case get some grips on the mushroom top and wiggle the breather til it comes out, should be tight but acceptable.

Us deep wading types tend to remove it and replace with some kind if pipe fitting, this taking the crankcase air inlet above the water level :)
