From what I understood the RF receiver could drain the battery.
But what happens if you only use the key and not the remote to lock/unlock/start the car.
Is the RF receiver still going to work the same way?

Should it be enough to disconnect the RF receiver?
What exactly has to be disconnected? How many cables? Any pictures?
