Ok just tested the terminals end of the wire to switch there's continuity and 12v. I was informed if the terminals complete the circuit the lights would go on without the switch... NOTHING. Any suggestions people. I have pre ordered a new switch anyways hope it solves it.

You might be better off posting this in the Freelander section?

Are you sure that the problem lies with the switch? It certainly was with mine, but I'd go through the circuit, checking the bulbs and fuse along the way, just in case. There may be a damaged cable somewhere in the circuit if grounding the signal cable does lead to reverse light illumination...

Hi. I ch3cked the fuse and there's 12v to the end of the wire that connects to the switch so just waiting on part and hopefully will be fixed. I bought 2 litres of gear fluid too as it ****ed out when I took the old switch out. Thanks for the reply.

No worries. Be aware that some aftermarket switches are the wrong length. I found this out the hard way, but luckily had a spare in an old gearbox I had lying around in the garage!

Fitted new switch and lights work but they STAY ON :( Any suggestions?

I found that the gearbox reversing light switch supplied can have the wrong plunger length - pop it out and compare with the original. It may need either modification, or sending back...
