This evening I noticed that there was a slight glow from the Off side reverse light. Also a slight glow from the red Park indicator lamp which went off when I pressed the mode switch, the there was still a glow from the reverse light. Looks like I need to dismantle the centre consul to find where the fault is. I hate electrics :D

leave it alone

if you dismantle the centre console you will open a pandoras box of other associated problems that are much worse than glowing lamps.

if it aint broke don't fix it ;)

If it's a P38, it may well be the BECM. Is the carpet wet in the drivers foot well?

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, its a P38a diesel. Just checked, the carpet is dry. It also looks as if somebody has been in at the centre consul which is causing me some concern, because whoever had the P38 before me has been a total bodger

BECM runs reverse lamps. Either from a reverse switch (manual) or from XYZ switch (auto). Either way switch to ground puts lamps on.

Cheers Wammers. I unplugged the looms from the BECM, gave them all a squirt of electrical cleaner, quick clean then put them back. Seems to be OK so far.
