It may seem a bit mad, but I fancy a rev counter in me series 3 petrol (I just like to know these things even though I know it's not the reviest engine ever).

I know roughly how the wiring goes, but just to make sure, it's pretty easy right? As in, there just a lead to coil, earth and a live?

Fair enough, I'll just read the instructions, but they're not vastly complicated to wire and set up, ie, is it a job that requires fine tuning or anything?

no tuning, some of the modern counters will have a DIP switch which you have to set depending on how many cylinders your engine has

would be a crime to fit something so bling to a series vehicle, but each to their own

might want to find one that goes to 5K FSD as you'll probably only be using the first third of that ones range

Doozils have to as there isnt a sparking circuit to determine revs/min.
Petrol rev counters - just count pulses.
