When i got my disco, the rev counter wasnt working but the needle was flickering, I searched high n low and found it not connected to the back of the alternator propery.

After fitting a nut and tightening it up i got a battery warning light and nothing on the rev counter at all. So i removed the cable completely and now nothing at all no flickering nothing.

So where did i go wrong, and what do i do next?!

hi i take it its a 300 or similar,on the back of the alternator the rev gauge had a flat spade connector which the rev gauge connected to,remove this connector completly and put a new eyelet on the wire and bolt straight on to the same pole minus black looking L shapped piece, your rev gauge should work again,if no alternator light check you have not blown the fuse, tiga

I recon the alternator is nackerd too.

I had similar thing, firdt the light came on then went out but the rev counter stoped then it wirked again and the light came back on. Seemed to be charging ok but eventualy got round to changing the alternator and all my problems have gone away.
