My base model 300tdi disco doesn't have electric mirrors.
There is a blanking plate where the control switch is. There is the wiring behind and there is also wiring to the mirrors.
Is it just a case of sticking a switch on it?

I did.
It didn't.
I checked fuse. All seems ok.

I expect theres a relay hidden somewhere too, assuming you have electric mirrors fitted. I'll have a gander in the old haynes after work.

Worked with mine. Couldn't find a manual mirror, so bought an electric one, fitted, wiring connected, switch off ebay, fitted, connected, worked!

I also have windup windows, but all the wiring is in place for motors and switches etc! Also added headlight adjusters for when we tow the caravan, again all the wiring there, just bought the bits, fitted, connected and works!

If you could that would be great.
The bloke I got the switch from is getting rid of the shell soon so I can grab what's needed from him.

I also got the electric window regs etc from him to fit.

Have you checked the switch with a multimeter?

All sorted. Passenger wing mirror was non electric type.
