Dear All,
This is my first post on this forum. I am hoping that another Range Rover owner has had similar issue . Couple of days back my 4.4 tdv8 Westminster started showing me intermittent warnings. When I start the car “gearbox fault” comes in yellow and “low Coolant level” in red . First one goes away as soon as it starts and Second one goes away in less than 5 mins . Last night I got “restricted performance warning” in red for fort tome on motorway . I stopped for while on hard shoulder and switched car off . Upon restarting in 10 mins the error has gone . Has anyone seen these before and what did they do to fix it . The car was serviced at main dealer in September and always been serviced there.

knackered battery would be my first guess l322s love a good battery and throw a tantrum when they get weak.

Have it load tested..

failing that, put her on diagnostics
 
If you have got a multimeter check the battery voltage engine off and then running at 2000rpm under load light heater etc and post up results if you haven't got one if you own a range rover its a must for basic fault finding.

Thanks Brain . I do have one . Will test soon and update the thread . Quick q: do you have or recommend having diagnostic scanner such as icarsoft LR2.0 etc .
 
My dealings with newer models is limited, there are lots of post on here about which one icarsoft and Gap have been mentioned but I don't know the best one

thanks Brain . Got some good information here. There is another review by a landyzone member . I just ordered one on Amazon.
As next steps , will test the battery first , get is changed as I guess it is time now anyway (mine is 2012 model so has been 6 years now) and second step would be to run the diagnostics . Thank you every one for all the help and information. This forum truly rocks !!
 
If you change the battery make sure its the biggest you can get in there110Ah 1000cca, don't go by what the motorfactors book says is the right one they often get it wrong, these motor have a lot of toys fitted and require a lot of juice to run them.
The battery is a very tight fit mm to spare.
 
+1 for the battery, but if it also happened on the motorway, I would suspect the alternator or bad connections.

No Worries, for the price I am very impressed with the iCarsoft LR2 as it does pretty much all modern Land Rovers to date for fault reading and live data.

It is a shame it doesn't do setting changes i.e. BCU functions and EAS calibration, but for it price point it is a very capable machine for fault code reading/diagnosis clearing faults and reading live data.
 
If you replace the battery yourself you’ll need to get the BMS system reset to let it know it’s got a new battery dotted else you’ll have battery charging issues amongst other issues

Yep, as said before 'goosed' battery for the win!

Thanks Mate. I will have it done at RR specialist instead . I am not handy enough to do that. :(
