I have been having the usual post conversion issue with my temp gauge. After trying several senders I am still having the problem.

Can I just stick a resistor in to drop it down and if so please recommend.

Wouldn't bother mate, just take out the gauge and fit a vdo gauge in and it's sender, bout 20 niker on eBay then you know exactly what temp ya running at;)

Or buy a green temp sensor from Steve parker that has the correct resistor inside it, then it's original

think the thread might be 1/8npt on the sender for the vdo, if so you will nead an female to male adapter to fit in the original place or you can get a hose pipe adaptor to go in the top hose, you may be lucky thou sometimes they come with a couple of adapter fittings

Ok it's come and doesn't have the adapter. The sender is 1/8npt but what will the land rover one be so I can order the adapter.

Just new to know what the thread is on the original. Garage stuffed a fat thread in a thin so will lock the adapter in tight so needs to be right

Hmm. I was just hoping to use the original port as I have already made one cut in the top hose for thermostatic rad fan.

I know I am sounding awkward but where they put the sender in needs sealing properly as when's is hot I am sure there's an escape. So two birds one stone you could say
