Don't really want to do the quick fix from the outside but complete headliner removal is beyond my ability. Anybody know a garage or company in the Bishops Stortford, Herts area that would do this? Phoenix at Sawbridgeworth appear to have stopped trading. There is a place at Canfield near Great Dunmow that I havn't rung yet.

Im going to drop the headlining on my D1... its the only way I can see that I can guarantee that when I re-cloth the head lining, its not going to leak and ruin it again.

For now though... I did this :D

I would need to have a lot of faith in any so called professional to do this job for me. They will never treat your vehicle the way you would yourself. I would predict broken trim fixings when they rip the pillar trims etc out. Yes it is a bit of a daunting task when you see what needs removing. But its a matter of being systematic, and careful. Its not a hard job, just time consuming.

I had chap from South West Sunroofs in Yeovil do mine. He does travel, and did mine at my house. I'd only just got the car and didn't fancy pulling the headlining down, with the inevitable busted clips etc.

However, he didn't do it that way - he removed the trims around the interior of the sunroofs and the interior lights and then used a right-angled drive attachment on his battery screwdriver to get at the screws holding the sunroofs on. Pretty neat way of doing it I thought.

If you don't fancy doing it I can recommend him. Mind you, having seen how he did it I would attempt it myself next time, although having replaced all the seals with Land Rover bagged items and put a bead of windscreen sealer stuff around the frame it shouldn't need doing again!
