You can reproof with Fabsil or similar canvas waterproofing fluids.

I'd whip the canvas off first and give it a really good scrub/jetwash, then let it dry before spraying the proofer on.

As mark said. Scrub it and clean with jet washer. U could get a tin from a building centre called water seal for bricks etc. that we use for the awnings on caravans etc. cheaper and effective etc. dilute the water seal etc and then brush it on etc Give it two coats leaving first one to dry then second coat etc.

I used Fabsil on my roof last Aug. I jetwashed it with just water to clean then used a couple of litres of fabsil on it. The rain runs off it since like water on a ducks back :)

Done loads of hoods and tents with thompsons brick sealer, brilliant stuff and half the price of fabsil.
B&Q sell it.
Just make sure your hood is bone dry.

Used to use Thompsons Water Seal (sold in DIY stores for brickwork) on my TVR's roof (TVR now long gone :()

Applied evenly but without 'drowning it' it never leaked - far cheaper than buying camping shop products, and available in larger quantities.

I used to reseal mine each year
