Done a search, nothing obvious came up.

Does anyone have any advice on replacing one of the panes on a series windscreen? Is it as easy as it looks?

Remove retainers from inside
cut, remove sealant
remove glass
clean up
sticky stuff in
glass in
retainers screwed in

is that it? have I missed anything? I was planning on lowering the windscreen so its level, may make it easier. Can I just use silly cone or is there something (better) special I should be using?

Its a 2a Lightweight

while Im here, will my headlamps fail the MOT if I only have 1 on full beam? they both work normally, but when I flick the full beam stick only 1 burns bright. I looked atthe testers manual and I think the rules are different for <72. my LTWT is a 69 and it seems I only need normal headlights and not requiring full. A quick look in the dark and I think they are sealed units so dont know how to remove the bulb :(

cheers.

put sticky new sticky stuff (window sealant) back in before you replace ya pains, and YES it will fail the mot new sealed units are less than a tenner ;)

Well I did this this morning and its real easy :) the original stuff was still soft, so I just rubbed off the hard bits, grabbed it all off the old screen and put it back where there were gaps. Pushed the new glass in and screwed it all up. As it stands I would imagine its going to leak so need to run some sealant around the outside of the glass.

cheers gents.
