I am in the process of slowly renovating my series 3 and I want to replace my rear door but it has a brass ‘locator’ (for want of a better word) plate with a receiver on the door shut. I would attach photos of each if I knew how. Does anyone know where I can buy one please? Thanks

You can probably post pics off a puter by copy and paste.

As regards the part, might be worth giving John Craddock a ring. If not, you will have to go round the Land Rover jumbles, etc.
Or post 24 more times, and place a Wanted ad on the forum.

I know this is the part catalogue for an early 110 but the part numbers are the same. The brass male dovetail piece fitted to the door it 332942 (number 9 in the picture) and the rest of the parts 20-25 in the picture are fitted to the tub below the striker. They do look to be very expensive or out of stock in most places so the spares days are probably your best bet. the other option is to look for complete but cheap and rusty rear doors that have the part fitted. I did this with some front doors when I needed the galv cappings, it was cheaper to buy a complete set of ruined doors than it was to buy the individual parts I needed. E.g. LINK currently £0.99, LINK2 currently at £20 or make an offer at time of posting and has the part you require fitted (nothing to do with me).

EDIT: On re-reading your post are you after a complete new rear door that includes the mounting bracket for the dovetail? it is a welded bracket onto the frame so should be included on all replacements if they are like for like.

Thanks guys. I am sure that Paintman panels supply a rear series door with the bracket for this part already fitted and I can re-use the actual parts. The Paintman doors are unglazed though……any source for the glass please?
