Hi all I've been on the forum a while but never got round to introducing myself I bought a 2005 td4 freelander early this year and last month was given a 1998 1.8 5 door freelander the 1.8 has a few things that need doing to it but nothing too major one is the fact the old owner took out the propshaft and vcu and chucked them in a skip so I've had to buy second hand props that needed the universal joints changing.
I stupidly forgot to mark the rear diff flange so don't know which way to put it back together will this effect the balance when I put it back together? if it goes the wrong way, I know the flange can only be 180 deg out but will be a pain to have to take the uj apart again after driving. And also there is no marks on IRD/diff as not the original prop will this be a problem?
One more question I noticed some tool marks on the uj mount legs where I assume the previous used a bar to stop shaft from turning not big but there on all the legs especially front prop, just wondering if I have bought some rubbish shafts?
