I have solid discs on the front of my 300TDi. I replaced the rear calipers, discs and pads last year and thought I would do the same to the front this year. If I buy vented calipers and discs plus pads will they just fit?

I've done exactly that. What model defender is it?

As a wild Guess I would think it sounds like a 300 tdi

Yes they will they just bolt up the same.

The calipers are the same just have a spacer between the 2 caliper halves to accommodate for the increased vented disc width

I'm replacing the calipers, pads and discs anyway so thought I'd stick the higher spec ones on as effectively the cost of the "upgrade" is only the difference in price. With all the additions the car is heavier so thought I might as well.

Vented are a waist if you do much off road,they just fill with crud.
