hi,

i'm skint, but the X plate Disoc needs new discs and pads all round. quotes from my usual tyre/brakge garages are around £350-400 to replace.

firstly - i found disc and pads sets on Paddock spares for £35 per pair - are these sets rubbish?

secondly, how difficult a DIY job is it - (i'm a relative novice - i just changed the rocker cover gasket today and did the rear air spring a couple of months ago which probably sums up my techincal limit!!)

obvioulsy if i can DIY and the paddock spares sets are OK i'll save about £280!!

paddock spares stuff will be ok.

Dead easy job......... Jack up, take wheels off, undo brake caliper (2 bolts), lift caliper out the way, take the pads out, undo the 2 big bolts and remove the caliper carrier (these bolts will be very tight), undo screw on brake disc and bash disc off, clean mating face, fit new disc, put screw back in, wire brush carrier so its free of brake dust and crap, refit carrier, fit new pads, squeeze pistons back in caliper, refit caliper, repeat for other side. Don't forget to pump the brake before you drive off!!!
 
Did this job not so long ago with Paddock grooved and drilled discs. easy peasy.

Don't forget to use copper slip on the disc to hub faces and pad backs. Good luck:cool:
 
very easy job with imited tools. Paddock parts use Mintex which are landy spec and great to use. hardest part is the effort to remove the wheels, go on, you will save bucket loads
