I am looking at replacing my cloth seats witha set of leather covered seats. The replacements are electrically adjustable and my present ones are not. Does anybody have experience of swapping manual seats for the electric versions and what is needed to acheive this?

I think the first requirement is that you have a high line BeCM. To check pop off the cover that hides the fuses under the seat. Look at the label thats on TOP of the fuse holder, there will be a white label on it, run your finger over it to clear the dust off etc and look to see if it has a H on the label.

If you cant see a H then you will need to check the other side of the BeCM. you are basically looking for a green connector known as C912.

If you can see this connector then you should be ok to add electric seats, if not then I dont think you will be able to add them (certainly not using factory standard) as the BeCM doesnt have the required connections.

See if you have the correct connection and/or a H on your BeCM first of all :)

Hi Wills

Thanks for your very helpful reply. I seem to have an L on my BeCM rather than an H which I assume stands for Low rather than High. Is that correct?

Im not sure, ive only ever seen ones with H on them or nothing at all where the H is.

Did you manage to check whether you had the green socket (C912) on the side of the BeCM??

Forgot to ask, can you see the part number of the BeCM on the label at all??

I've not managed to get round to the side with the outlet on it but I will have a go in the morning and also check the part number.

Thanks again.
