Replaced the oil cooler pipes and oil cooler (as I heard the threads would strip - they didn't, so I have a used oil cooler up for grabs now).

Anyway, one of the new pipes (the right hand one as it fits in to the engine) is leaking where it pushes in. The O ring didn't fall off. So is it common to leak there? Did I miss doing something? It's all nice and tight.

How would I fix it? Bigger/thicker O ring or complain to Island 4x4 and send it back? :)

tnx

You possibly missed lining up the pipes on the clamps and supports BEFORE tightening anything. O'ring supplied will seal it easily IF pipes are fitted correctly.

I've loosened both the clamp and the support and gave it all a good wiggle and tightened it back up.

I'll borrow a ramp and take a look from underneath with a torch and make sure...

Make sure it's not leaking from the filter top, otherwise a Wammers said, missalignemt of the pipes.

As above or you have damaged an oring

Don't be afraid to take them out for inspection a wiggle is not good enough ;)
Old washing up bowl, and your only lose whats in the filter and A little from the pipes .

But top up

And the best way is with the pipes loosely put on the oil cooler threads alowing movement
Fix in filter ends In there lug locators nip up alowing movement not to tight not too loose fix in to clamp bracket leave loose , tighten filter pipe bolt then bracket clamp then the two oil cooler pipes .
