RENEWING THE GLOW PLUGS
This is a pretty easy job to do.
First ah removed the pipes and cyclone breather to give me better access .
Then ah took of the nut holding the feeds nearest the bulkhead first
then continued with the other ones before removing the harness
Next it was just a case of using a long/deep 10mm socket to remove the plugs
(just a couple of photies of the old and new plugs)
Then its just a case of smearing some copper grease around the plug threads fitting and torquing up the new plugs, sticking the harness back on, sticking the cyclone breather and hoses back on .
If ye suspect a dodgy glow plug, try sticking the plug in a vice (carefully as not to crush or damage it!) then attach a wire to the body of the plug and to the negative terminal of a spare battery and a wire to the top threads of the plug and connect to the positive terminal of the battery. The tip should glow red about 5 or 6 seconds, if not then suspect a knackered plug .
Leave the plug for a while to cool down as it will be very hot!!!
