I am in the process of removing the terrible disco side steps on my 4 door R plate 300Tdi.
I have unbolted and removed the step on one side, but the other side a nut has rounded off, Sooooooo I have decided to do the job properly rather than grinding the nut off, so I will take the mounts of aswell as the steps. (then if I sell them they will be complete with mounts)

Before I take plastic coverings off and rip carpets up, can anyone tell me how to best get to the other side of the bolt holding the mount in place as i assume you need to get both sides of the bolt to remove them properly??

Thanks in advance reload

Cheers for the reply, If you read my post, I have decided it best to remove the mounts as well, so was hoping for some direction onhow to get to the internal part of bolt holding the mounts on?

i did read it but decided to give you the info i know about.

i don't know cos i aint got a Disco, but someone will be along soon ;)

Interesting because most side steps clamp or bolt to the external parts... no need to go internal to investergate.

front body mount can be got to either from underneath with a spanner 14mm or 9/16 or socket through hole inn floor rear mount a spnner from underneath

Cheers I have undone the bolt but it does not come away(just keeps turning) which led me to believe you need a spanner/socket on the other side(possibly internal)
They are genuine land rover steps which bolt on.
