this is a pretty dumb question, but how do you remove the cigarette socket from the centre console in my 2000 plate Td5? does it unscrew or what!!??!!

the ones in the 300tdi have lil spring clip things on em. when you shove it in the spring clips pop in and hold the lighter socket in place and let me tell you they are a b*stard to get out, at least mine where. you have ta take the console out to do it.

Yes, take out the centre console or you run the risk of breaking either the ciggy lighter or splitting/cracking the console.
