When you say remove the air con doyou mean the whole shooting match or just the compressor? I took mine out and left the compressor inplace so no messing about with belts etc.
 
Yes. Took everything out from inside the cab and also the pipework, receiver/dryer and heat exchanger from under the bonnet. Just left the compressor in place as I may try and use it for on board air system and did not want to mess around with belts. So long as your air con clutch is disengaged the compressor pulley acts just like an idler. Sold everything off on eBay to a bloke in Kenya.
