Picked up a recon VCU from Ken at Bell today, lovely chap.

Fitted a brand-new VCU last year but it turned out to be tighter than the old one I had just removed but after a bit of argy bargy with the supplier I got my refund (turned out GKN were giving blanket refunds as a faulty batch had gone out). Ran with the old VCU refitted for the past year or so but as I had to remove it to get to the fuel tank cradle I thought it was a good chance as any to get it done.

Arranged with Ken that he would test my VCU and if necessary, supply a recon one so I popped over this morning (only 100 miles each way on the bike but journey was a bit of a nightmare). He tested the old one and although it was still "serviceable" it was clearly tighter than the recon one so I paid my money and took one of those.
Had a quick insight as to how the reconditioning process is carried out and can only say that for those wanting to do it DIY, why bother?

Won't be fitting the "new" VCU for a couple of weeks as the cradle still has to be done but when done it will hopefully behave as it used to when new.

This is the second time I have used Bell, can't recommend them enough.

I cannot speak highly enough about Bell engineering and Ken in particular. They give good old fashioned service and if they say they will do something they make sure its done and on time. For VCU's they are the guys to use
