Its time for my 97 defender to get a new gearbox, I know it needs one because it crunches into 2nd and theres pieces 2-3 mm of steel attached to the magnet drain plug. (baulk ring?)
So Ive decided on getting it fitted by Ashcrofts, but should i have a new transfer box fitted at the same time?

Cons... another £500:eek:
Pros.. If i have one now its fitted free (with the gearbox):)
I could have a 1.222 ratio fitted (low ratio not affected);)
Drivetrain sorted.

What do you guys think?
 
i you have got the money then why not, i have a gearbox from them and its great, just like a new one.
