I recently purchased a 1985 110 CSW with a 3.5L V8 that was replaced in 2009. The guy I bought the 110 from is also giving me the original 3.5L that came with the truck in case I wanted to restore the truck to original spec.

My question is whether I should rebuild the engine as a 3.5L 8.13:1 CR, upgrade the CR to 9.35:1 or do the conversion to 3.9L. Any thoughts on the subject?

I suppose I'd keep the original in storage if there's a chance it'll ever sell on as a highly original timewarp classic.
Drop in something bigger in the meantime ;)

The 9.35:1 would be more efficient and a 3.9 great for performance but I suspect that's not important as a 110 is not designed for that.
So up to u.

It really depends. Is this to restore and sell in the future. Or is it a keeper for the long term for personal use?
If its to sell, then i would restore to original spec but maybe with 9.35 compression as only modification. If long term keeper then go with as big an engine as you can. Maybe build yourself a 4.6 from the 3.9 block like i did and megasquirt it. :)
