2004 HSE 135k Manual

Hello to all.
Let me see if you can bring me a explanation or not to my issue , question

I bought my HSE 3 years ago and its been a dream.besides oil changes and drop links its been a great car.

When i bought it..it was from a farmer and when i got home i done 4 oil changes so i could at least be sure the engine would be clean
Then i started to read about the egr delete and the replace of the psv filter.

So i bought the egr delete kit and the BMW replace part.
Now this is what happen...

After I instal them it everrytime time the car reached the 2000 rpm (parked ) there was a whitish grey smoke ....( we were in October and many said it would be not smoke but vapor...well vapor desapears after 1,2 3, sec....this one was a bit thicker). Replceing this two things was the only thing i did before that episode happend. So i remove both ( what i should have done was remove one then the other to see if the smoke would still appear) and never again that happenn SInce then its been a smoke free car ..some times on hard acel (i can see at night ) ther is just a bit of smoke .

Do you guys think its was some strange episode , or there is another reason.....? SInce then i still the replace the psv filter and cleann my egr every year

The BMW cyclone modification does not catch oil in the PCV system and so more oil will flow into combustion. I think this is the resultant smoke you are seeing.
 
Ok...so, not worth to install then?
BMW never installed the cyclonic separator as an improvement, but as a way to reduce workshop time. Basically it's fit n forget, rather than change a filter annually.
When the cyclone separator is installed, there would be an increase in oil consumption, especially on an older more worn engine. A puff of smoke on starting is often due to excess oil getting behind the valves when sitting overnight, which is then burnt off on the morning start.
