My rear door windows stopped working last night, front ones fine. Neither the buttons between the front seats, nor the buttons on the door do anything. I have tried to 'override lock' switch in both positions to no effect. Would not be such a problem but one of them is open a couple of inches.

Is it as simple as a separate fuse, have not had time to check fuses yet.

Any thoughts?

Hi, on my 300 tdi the back and front windows are on seperate fuses in the main fuse box, as the same happened to me.

Common fault with the elec window ECU located in the glove box (well, behind it) takes about 30 mins to fix if you are handy with a soldering iron. A Google search should reveal some step by step instructions.

hi davej
check your relay on drivers side foot well on 200 model you will have to remove trim panel, cant be 100% sure but i think its the 3rd black relay.with the trim panel removed and ignition on first position operate front windows the relay will click use a process of elimination and try swapping them be carefull not to unplug yellow one,as stated in earlier thread check your fuses first though.
good luck fella ;)

read your tip as i have similar problem with rear windows, the forum had pointed to the dry joint on the ecu which my disco doesnt have(1993 )but i have 12v on both fuses c1,c2 front windows aok but your info says avoid the yellow relay ,why what happens if pulled out by mistake?there is no 12 supply on the central console for the switches to operate rear windows so will try your lead.
