Hi, does anyone have any idea how to lower the back window (without breaking it) with out power to the back door, I've tried removing the negative battery terminal and waiting for 30 minutes, the window does not drop

Hi, I have the same landrover. The rear window drops on mine if you take the roof off the back (or raise it enough to activate the switch). I can raise it again after the roof is back on with the key in the back door. There is no other way to fully activate the window.

Thanks, I've had the the vehicle for 10 years and never taken the roof off. I am reluctant to do so on the grounds that I might not be able to seal it again. I would like to trace the electrical fault first and try and resolve it that way rather than taking the roof off, but as a last resort.

It's a clever design and doesn't leak. Mine hadn't been taken off before I bought the vehicle but I wanted that function. I think it is a benefit to remove it to clean the interface of algae etc that would trap water.

Does your window move when you open the back door?

When it's working properly, yes the seal around the top of the glass, where the glass meets the roof has started to go. The aluminium within the rubber has started to 'rust' and white powder is coming from the drain holes.
