Strange one if anyone has experienced this Still new to Freelander ownership having only recently bought my 02 Freelander 3dr Rear washer was not working so so today I decided to replace the one way valve which fixed the issue however now rear window will no longer close with the key? Will fully open with the unlock button on the fob and with switch on the dash but now will only close when fully closed using dash switch anything in between and it will fully open, previously would rest at any point when letting go of button and would fully close with the key in the tailgate? Have disconnected the battery and recalibrated the window and the issue still present, I can’t see replacing the washer one way valve could have caused the issue but I don’t believe in coincidences hoping it’s something simple………..

All Freelander 1s I have ever had required a full window close or it would drop again.
If the key isn't working the window first check is the microswitch in the lock barrel.
Don't think this is linked to the work on the washer unless you have accidentally disturbed a wire or connection.

Cheers @andyfreelandy fixed the issue all working now, checked inside the rear handle to find a little chunk of rubber from the seal must have come loose and stopping the barrel from reaching the microswitch when turning the key

Great, just to confirm, your window works the same as all of mine when raising?? If you stop mid close, it drops again?

Yeah that's right, I think I must have confused myself with that one o_O, it does only stop mid way on the way down from fully closed using the dash switch, won't stop on the way up at any point without going all the way back down,
