After getting stuck down to the sills last night I pressure washed the Disco (well the lads at the car wash did) and now I have a rubber seal hanging down. It appears that it attaches to the inner arch and forms a seal between there and the body. The question is, what is it there for? The lip that holds it in place has rotted off at the rear so the impulse to rip it off and bin it is almost overwhelming :D

It's supposed to stop the crap getting up between the inner and outer wings and so slow down corrosion.

but in reality it traps the crap and don't let it out again and speeds up the rusting process

on my 3 dr ive removed all inner wing sections so I can get in there with a jetwash,i used to have aluminium panels but the mud they trapped was unbelievable:eek:
