Hi

I thought i had a problem with the rear wiper not working intill i read all doors need to be shut for it to work

anyways with this working i hit the screen wash button but nothing, got a mate to press it while i was out side and could not hear the pump, front wash works fine, so i guess they have different pumps ? can i replace just the rear pump or is it all one unit ? where are the pumps located on a 300tdi, i have not checked fuse yet but am i right in thinking the fuse runs the rear wiper and washer, and with the wiper working i dobt its the fuse if it does use the same one ?##any help would be great

Yes u can replace the pump for the rear washer.
The pumps are positioned at the rear of the washer fluid bottles.

I haven't clue on the fuses without me refering to the fuse lists in the discos owners handbook or Haynes manual, something u may be be able to do.

First thing is to look for is corroded electrical terminals or blockage at the pump.

i take t the bottle has to come out for this then ? by looks of it, there are just 2 boths holing it in place ? i looked in hand book and it said fuse 18 wash/wipe rear, mirrors, cruise control

the mirrors and wiper both work just not the wash and like i said cant her any noise when button is pressed so either pump is dead or like you say may be corroded connections may be ?

99 times out of 100, the bolts are rusted solid in the wings and yu will rip the captive nuts out of the water bottle. My suggestiin, dont try!

how many bolts are in it then i can see 2 at the top of the bottle and these are rust free and came loose earlier as i was gonna take it out but then got called away

Just swap the power connectors over to see if it operates the other pump. If it does, pull out the defective pump. Why make things 10 times more difficult?

can you get to the pumps with out removing the bottle then ? i could not see the pumps earlier but never looked to hard lol

ahh ok will take a look in morning cheers for the info, dont suppose you know anyone who sells the pumps if this is whats up with it ?

U may need a pump replacement, there's not much to go wrong with the pump as all they have is a small brushless motor and a impeller spinning around, if it stops spinning then it could be a bit of grit or something similar stopping it which is soon sorted with blast with an air line.

Well got new motors and fitted and still not working I'm sure I have checked and changed the correct fuse any other ideas what it could be?

There is no special way to get it to work like the front has to have doors closed?
